New Delhi's AAP effect, where Aam Admi Party, surprised everyone won 28 seats, was clearly on minds of people and the party has already emerged as an option. A young software professional, Himanshu Pathak, 26, said people, including considerable number of youths came out of homes to vote. "People are no longer ignorant. Politicians will have to live up to their expectations and work honestly. Otherwise, what happened in Delhi could happen here as well," asserted Pathak.
61-year old Rita Tandon, resident of Srinagar, said people cannot be fooled easily, adding, "The upcoming Lok Sabha polls will not be a cakewalk for BJP. Now, youngsters and women discuss politics. One can clearly see effect of a new party in New Delhi. It is good sign for democracy."
Common issues like well-maintained roads, proper drainage system, better garbage disposal system and better policing dominate voters' agenda. "Gone are the days when you voted in the name of Gandhi or Nehru. People want development and I will keep tabs on the work of local MLA," Saket added.

Meenakshi Puranik, another voter and an entrepreneur from Manik Bagh area, said people have reposed faith in BJP. She said, "People are becoming more aware and it will be a testing time for politicians to prove their worth.
